Hello everyone!
I'm Jimena, and I'm delighted to meet you. As a teacher of law and English for Spanish speakers for the past 6 years, I've had the privilege of sharing my knowledge and passion with a wide range of students. My teaching journey took a fascinating turn when I discovered my love for teaching Spanish to English speakers.
For 4 years, I had the opportunity to work as a simultaneous interpreter for American visitors in Uruguay. This experience gave me a deep understanding of the challenges and joys involved in learning a new language and adapting to a new culture.
My commitment to teaching led me to train at the NGO Teach Uruguay, where I acquired solid skills in pedagogy and effective teaching methods. This year, I decided to take my passion a step further and began my formal teaching studies, although my love for teaching has always been a part of me, as I am self-taught in pedagogy.
My approach as a teacher focuses on creating an inclusive, stimulating, and personalized learning environment. I strive to make my classes dynamic, interactive, and relevant, using a variety of resources and techniques to adapt to the individual needs of my students.
Whether you're taking your first steps in Spanish or looking to perfect your skills, I assure you a rewarding and enriching learning journey by my side. As a teacher, my focus is on creating a relaxed and personalized learning environment where my students feel comfortable to explore and develop their Spanish language skills. I utilize a variety of techniques and teaching methods tailored to the individual needs of each student.
My classes typically begin with an initial assessment to understand the student's level of proficiency and specific goals. From there, I design a personalized study plan that includes a combination of interactive activities, practical exercises, guided conversations, writing exercises, and multimedia resources.
During the classes, I encourage active student participation and provide constructive feedback to aid in their progress. Additionally, I emphasize the importance of consistent practice and immersion in the language to enhance fluency and confidence in Spanish.
My classes cater to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced. Whether they are looking to improve their communication skills for work, academic, or travel situations, I am committed to providing a rich and effective learning environment for each of my students. My goal is not only to teach the language but also to inspire my students to develop a passion for Spanish and an appreciation for the cultural diversity it entails.
