Hello I’m Elizabeth and I’m originally from the UK and a CELTA qualified tutor with 13 years experience. I have also trained as a Cambridge English Examiner and helped establish an online language academy from 2017 so I have many years experience teaching online.

One of the main things I see students struggling with is the tendency to translate word for word from their native language to English. My goal is to help you speak in natural sounding English as well as helping you to tune in- a little bit like finding the right frequency for a radio station so you can understand English easier giving you more confidence in speaking and listening.
I’ve also been learning Spanish myself so a lot of the time, I can completely understand why it might be sometimes a little scary or even embarrassing to try to speak in a different language. This is normal and it’s ok because with practice and giving you entire phrases that you can swap and replace words so start sounding more fluent and natural
There are lots of different ways of learning as we’re all very different but some of my classes might include me sharing a video form popular TV series, magazine articles and maybe working on vocabulary or different grammatical forms from these sources. Whatever we’re learning, I’ll be assessing how you best learn and providing classes that are engaging and fun for you to learn.
